STEP 4. Prepare and give your First Round Presentation

Prepare your 5 minute pitch to the review committee to be presented on Wednesday, March 18 2015 from 3-5pm in 4-145 at the First Round presentation. At this stage we’re looking to help you refine your idea. We might also connect teams with similar ideas that we believe might be more compelling and competitive in the Second Round. The First Round presentations are casual dress.

We encourage you to follow these Presentation Guidelines suggested by Professor Hal Abelson.

Round 2

STEP 5. Update your Submission Document

Email your revised submission document by Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 9am to iCampusPrize -at- mit -dot- edu. The same restrictions apply as in Round 1.

STEP 6. Prepare a Storyboard of your Vision

The Second Round includes a poster session with a storyboard of your vision and a 5 minute presentation based on your storyboard.

To present your submission to the review committee, we’re going to have you do it as a storyboard.

Designing the Poster

Design the poster for 48″ wide x 36″ high. We recommend that you design the poster using these dimensions, instead of trying to scale up from a smaller size. You can use PowerPoint (or Adobe Illustrator, or similar) to create your poster.

In PowerPoint go into File > Page Setup and set the dimensions to 48″ x 36″.

Printing the Poster

We’ve arranged with MIT CopyTech to print the posters on glossy photo paper and mount them on foam core for you (we’re paying for the cost of the printing). You are welcome to keep the poster after the poster session (though we may ask to reprint a copy so we can display your work in our offices).

Submit your poster to CopyTech via the online form by Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 9am. (It may be possible to submit your poster later, but we’ve worked out a guarantee that they’ll have the poster printed and delivered to the venue if you submit your poster by this time.)

You’ll have to login with your Kerberos credentials and possibly create an account with CopyTech. Fill out the following information on your work order, this helps to make sure it arrives on time and we pay for it!

  1. Select your Poster file to upload.
  2. On the “Cart”, first select Student Center – Large Format Posters. You must do this first!
  3. Change the “Print” options to indicated “Heavyweight Bond 36″ x 28″”.
  4. Change the “Other” options to indicate “Mount 36″x48″”
  5. Add “iCampus Prize Poster” in “Other Notes” on the “Summary” tab.
  6. Under “Shipping Information” select “Hold for Pickup”.
